A Year after the Presidental Elections: The State of the United States - Power, Problems, People

Teachers’ conference in cooperation with the Atlantic Academy

Almost one year after the elections of 2024, it is time to take a more detailed look at the current developments in the United States. What has changed in domestic and foreign politics and how are Americans reacting to these changes? The second administration of President Trump displays great efforts to consolidate presidential power and to break and circumvent norms and rules - so are Checks and Balances still functioning as intended? How does civil society react to these trends and this expansion of power and how does the administration make civic action more difficult? And lastly, what do these changes mean for transatlantic relations and for U.S. foreign policy as a whole? We are going to discuss these questions and more with our experts and audience and are looking forward to you joining this digital seminar!
