Teaching Ireland is not only a mandatory requirement of the new curriculum. This decade is full of anniversaries in the history of Ireland, the most important English-speaking country remaining in the EU.
In the first part of the e-session, we will talk about teaching Ireland at the intermediate level in years 7/8 (as required by the current curriculum). Some ideas on working with the timeline to understand key milestones in the history of Ireland, aspects of intercultural communication, literature and multimodal texts (including digital tools) will be covered.
In the second part of the e-session, we will look at possibilities of teaching Ireland at the advanced level.
